In a little over six years the application has grown to 65M monthly users, with over 250M downloads globally, has reached #1 in the App Store and continues to grow 500% year-over-year. Favored for its artist-friendly licensing agreements, Triller has partnered with A-list celebrities including Snoop Dogg, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish and more.
In 2015, newly formed Triller sought to build a social platform that would allow musicians and music fans to create and share short-form high-fidelity music videos with a global audience. The vision was to create the feel and functionality of MTV for the new generation.
We conducted in-depth user research to understand both the creator and consumer audiences most likely to engage with the app. Careful planning and execution allowed us to design and develop an intuitive music video application with the ability to mix separate takes and easily share on social media channels thereby creating a viral loop.
